AUDO COPENHAGEN (formerly known as Menu) Reverse Table Lamp - presents Reverse Lamp, a new lighting solution that underpins the ever-present beauty of natural materials. In his search for simple and clever solutions in any given space, Danish designer Aleksandar Lazic looked to Italian marble tables from the 1970s when creating the Reverse Lamp. Inspired by the play on structure created by geometric constraints, the conical travertine base and curved, bronzed aluminium shade define the lamp’s perfectly balanced expression.

OLUCE Acrilica Table Lamp - Joe Colombo‘s first project for Oluce, the only one worked on together with his brother Gianni. From then on, the two Colombo brothers clearly separated their fields: Joe left art in which he had shown interesting promise with “Nucleari”, while Gianni no longer worked in design, becoming one of the leading exponents of the kinetic, programmed movement. The 281 model, created in 1962, was immediately nicknamed “Acrilica” due to its surprising conspicuousness and exception innovation of the significant curve made from acrylic. Methacrylate, used for about a decade in the field of lighting, usually in thin sheets that are cut or thermoformed, found a very particular use here: its thickness and curve meant that, thanks to its conduction properties, the light from a fluorescent lamp contained within the painted steel base moved through the transparent body, eventually lighting the head in an incredible way. Due to this “magical movement”, “281” is more a work of kinetic art than a lamp.

OLUCE Switch Table Lamp - By means of the Switch lamp, the Japanese designer Nendo, revisits the shape of the classic abat-jour by renewing both its materials and its function. The archetypal shape of the cylindrical lampshade is transformed by using metal while its function as a diffuser is combined with that of a ‘switch’, hence its name. In fact, the lamp is switched on and off by turning the sheet metal lampshade, inextricably blending shape and function, aesthetics and functionality.
