"I love ... the beauty of the Earth and the Sky, the dialogue between the roots and the clouds, travelling, Asia, colors, pigments, painting and its texture, signs and lines, ink, the poetry of the "instant", the breath that precedes the brush and prolongs it, the "visible-invisible", the empty and full, space, the impossible reality of the wind, pictures that invite to infinite ways, pulse and fluidity of life ... "
Maryi was born and lives in France.
Her work is often a space for meditation and reflection which explores gesture, space and time. Maryi investigates dualities – emptiness and plenitude, the visible and the invisible, light and shade – fascinated by the force of the moments arising in the interstices, those places of all transformation. Poetry and the inspiration it gives her merge into colours, lines, shapes and movement, creating intimate landscapes.
Alongside this artwork, Maryi develops with children around the world a project that combines art and sustainable development, “What’s the weather like on your planet?”
